Our Story
Vladimir & Meghan
We started this adventure without knowing what the future would hold for us. After meeting in Vladimir’s hometown of Oaxaca de Juarez in 2020, we began to spend our lives together and to dream of our futures. After a brief time in Montréal, we moved to my hometown of Pittsburgh. Here in Pittsburgh, we have begun to put down roots, investing in our home and building from the ground up our very own business. Our goal with Lulá’ La Chula is to:

-
Become independent workers,
-
Positively impact our communities and,
-
Bring a piece of Oaxaca to Pittsburgh

Our Values

Authenticity
We put a lot of care into choosing our ingredients and determining fair prices because people deserve access to good food that is good for you. We use the freshest ingredients we can get and connect with local producers to the best of our abilities. For certain items, we insist on using authentic Oaxacan and Mexican ingredients; when we can’t buy them, we make them. If we wouldn’t want to eat it, why would we serve it to you?
Accessibility
We know that not everyone can afford high quality food, but we will never turn someone hungry away. We believe it is each person’s responsibility according to their capacity to help those in need, especially when our government refuses to fill those needs. Well, we are in the business of food, so such is our capacity. If you need food and can’t afford our prices, we encourage you to reach out. We are happy to work within your budget. And if you don't struggle to put food on the table for you and your loved ones, we encourage you to give to others in whatever way you are capable.
